Freedom for the Istanbul10
On 5 July 2017 the Turkish human rights defenders Günal Kurşun and Veli Acu (Human Rights Agenda Association), Idil Eser (amnesty international Turkey), İlknur Üstün (Women’s Coalition), Nalan Erkem, Özlem Dalkiran and Seyhmus Ozbekli (Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly), Nejat Tastan (Association for Monitoring Equal Rights), and their international trainers Ali Gharavi and Peter Steudtner (Hivos) were arrested near Istanbul during a training on IT-Management and dealing with stress and trauma.
By now the Istanbul10 were charged with alledgedly supporting terrorist organisations. At the start of the trial on 25 October 2017 all were released from pre-trial detention. However, the trial continues.
We keep on demanding:
Freedom for the Istanbul10 !
Drop all charges against them !
Protect human rights – in Turkey and everywhere !
